Royal Enfield Angling Club

2-Day International Angling Festival

10th/11th June 2016.

Royal Enfield Angling Club held their annual 2-Day International Festival over the weekend of the 10th/11th of June.  As in previous years the event proved to be well attended with 54 anglers attending from all over Ireland and the UK.  In total the Club paid out over $4300 in prizes.

The matches were held on stretches of the Royal Canal at Longwood and Blackshade

Present from Waterways Ireland was Mr Enda Raleigh, while Councillor Enda Flynn represented Meath County Council.

Massive thanks have to go to Waterways Ireland on the continuing work which is being completed along the Royal Canal sections preparing the shared facilities.

The Fishing was relatively good and event across all sections, with some good bream showing up to 5lbs in weight.

The results of the Festival were as follows:

Seniors:

1st:         Paul Hughes UK (38lb.10ozs) who received over €900, the Progressive Genetics Cup and a Crystal Trophy presented by Waterways Ireland

2nd:       Mike White, UK (21lb.10ozs) who received over €250 and a Crystal Trophy presented by Waterways Ireland.

3rd:        Chris Skinner. UK (18lb. 7ozs) who received €150 and a Crystal Trophy presented by Waterways Ireland.

4th:        John Hall, UK (16lb.2ozs) who received €80

5th:        John King, United Kingdom (15lb.1ozs) who received €50
