On Sunday February 19th Keith Brehony from Sligo produced a personal best pike. The cracking looking pike weighed in at 25lbs 4oz, and we have a beautiful photo of Keith’s prized catch.
Having trolled for 4-5 hours with only 2 small pike on Copper Spoons Keith and his angling pal Peter Gilraine switched over to dead baiting, and floated a few roach along heavy weed beds. It proved a masterstroke as within 15 minutes of the first drift, Keith was in action. Right from the start Keith knew he was stuck into a super fish, as it kept down and never showed till ready for the net.
There was certainly an element of luck as the pike was very lightly hooked, and after a few quick photos the lads released their prized catch. Great pike lads, and a beautiful photo to remember your personal best pike to date.
