Cobh Sea Angling Club 44th. international sea angling festival
Monday 6th to Friday 10th September 2010.
Cobh international is one of the longest running and most prestigious events in the ireish and European calendar, with a cash prize of €1,000 for the overall winner, €400 for the runner/up. and €200 for third, €400 will be awarded to the best overall team of four + a large array of Cork crystal + perpetual trophys.
This competition is known all over europe for it’s competitiveness and fairness as all fish are weighed on board the boats and returned alive to the water unless the angler wishes to retain it for eating. The competition is fished over four days Mon, Tue, Thur and Fri with Wednesday being a rest day or some anglers prefer to do some fun fishing.
Boats depart Mon. tue. and Thur. at 10 am. and fri. at 9 am.and return each evening at 5.30 pm. approx.
Points are awarded for each kilo of fish weighed + species recorded. On return each evening the anglers retire to one of our local bars who have sponsored the days prizes and thats where the craic begins with tales of the ones that got away.
The week concludes on friday evening with the presentation of prizes and gata dinner in the Commodore hotel until the early hours of Saturday morning.
